Name: Nicole P

Classes that you teach: Yin Yoga

How do you strike a balance between your personal practice and teaching?

What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out on their yoga

or barre journey? The best yet hardest thing as a new student is to not compare yourself to

to other students. Show yourself the same kindness you would a freind.

What is your favorite yoga pose or barre move and why? And what’s your

least favorite yoga pose or barre move and why?

My favorite yoga pose is “legs up the wall” because it takes little to no effort but there are countless benefits. My least favorite pose is probably camel because I have very tight hip flexormuscles.

What’s your favorite yoga/barre quote or mantra?

We often think that we use our bodies to get in the poses, but the poses help us get into our body’s. -unknown

What made you want to teach yoga/barre?

Younger years of insense military life, and chronic pain drew me to anything healing and Yoga is what made a huge difference for

How would you describe your classes/teaching style? me and I want to share that healing.

I like balance, my hope for my students in my yin classes is to be able to embrase stillness and for all classes I teach my hope is that my students are able toreconnect with thier own body.

What is one piece of advice you always give your students?

Listen to your breath, and use it to connect with yourself.

What do you want students to take away from your classes?

A feeling of being rejuvenated and calm, maybe even having a bit more grace and compassion for themselves.

How does yoga/barre connect with your life off the mat?

I am a mama of 3 in a blended family. Our schedule is chaotic or organized chaos at best. Yin and remebering my breath helps me to be mindful and grateful for all of the blessings and business. It helps keep me present in my own life.

What is your advice to beginners?

Yoga is a continual practice and we are all on our own journey, give yourself grace and love yourself where you are at!

What do you like to do when you’re not at Pressed?

I spend time with my kids, watch thier sports, I love crafting of all sorts, and anything outside.
