Teacher Spotlight – Jessica

Name: Jessica
Classes I Teach: Vinyasa 1 & Vinyasa2
i like to practice each morning when i wake up, I also like to have my own practice for an hour or so before i teach, or practice after i teach for a little bit!
Try and turn it into a new routine for yourself by making time for it a couple times a week, also trying out all of they styles of classes!
My favorite yoga pose is Dancers(natarajasana) because i love how it balances my body, mind, and heart chakra,  my least favorite would have to be fish pose(matsyasasa) because i don’t like how it opens my throat chakra!
My favorite quote is “The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships” – T.K.V Desikachar
I wanted to start teaching yoga because I loved going to classes and I felt like i would love to be the teacher because i always want to help brighten up someone’s day and make them feel special!
I’d describe my teaching style as trying to connect with each student by creating a fun safe place with trying new poses and keeping the movement going!
One piece of advice I give to students is to always make each practice your own and to be in tune with your body to what feels good to you that day.
I always want each student to take away a new thing from each class; maybe a new pose to try, a new quote, or a new way of breathing.
Yoga connects with my life off the mat because I am always trying to be kind or share happiness with everyone wherever I go!
Advice to beginners: Keep going and done give up or lose the routine of making time for yourself on the mat!
I like to volunteer for the homeless, spend time painting, and finding new crafts to try!
